back, backward, hind, behind

這些詞均有“在后，向后”之意。

back : 作為副詞或形容詞時，強調所修飾物的位置以及動作運動方向。

例如：He likes sitting in the back of the class.（他一直喜歡坐在教室的后排。）

backward : 可用于人或物，指向后的，落后的或遲鈍的。

例如：The child is resigned to being backward in his studies.（這孩子在學習上甘居下游。）

hind : 指成對并且分前后的東西的“后面的”。

例如：The animal is able to stand up on itshind limbs.（這種動物能夠用后肢站立。）

behind : 指一物同它物相對的位置或場所。

例如：Behind every successful man , there is a woman.（每個成功男人的背后,都有一個女人。）
