German President Christian Wulff has announced his resignation, after prosecutors called for his immunity to be lifted.
德國總統(tǒng)克里斯蒂安伍爾夫宣布他將辭職，主要原因是檢察院已經(jīng)提出要求取消他的豁免權(quán)。

An ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel, Mr Wulff, 52, stepped down over corruption claims involving a dubious home loan. He denies any wrongdoing.
52歲的伍爾夫作為總理默克爾的一位盟友，因為當前尚不明晰的家庭貸款案宣布離職。他個人依舊堅持自己并沒有做錯什么。

Mrs Merkel cancelled a visit to Italy on Friday to deal with the crisis, and said she regretted that he had quit.
德國總理默克爾取消了對意大利的訪問來應對此次危機，她表示她對于伍爾夫的離職非常遺憾。

She said she accepted his resignation "with respect but also with regret".
她說：她尊重總統(tǒng)的選擇，但是也對此表示惋惜。

"He dedicated himself to the interests of Germany," she said in a brief statement at 10:30 GMT, shortly after his announcement on Friday.
默克爾在當?shù)貢r間10點30分，繼總統(tǒng)正式發(fā)布證明之后做了一個簡短的說明：她認為伍爾夫在任職期間始終為了德國人民的利益而盡職盡責。

She said Mr Wulff was convinced he had "acted legally correctly" but was "stepping back from the office, from service to our people".Germany's political parties will now seek to agree on a new candidate for president, she said.
她也進一步表示，伍爾夫總統(tǒng)的行為并沒有非法之處，僅僅只是從官方的立場以及服務人民的位置上退了下來。德國的政黨將會重新找到一位新的總統(tǒng)候選人。

In the interim, Horst Seehofer of the Christian Social Union (CSU), will be acting president.
