Zero 7由Henry Binns及Sam Hardaker兩位在倫敦當?shù)劁浺羰夜ぷ鞯幕锇橐黄鸾M合而成，九零年代初期他們潛伏于錄音室中，鍛煉各種音樂制作上的技巧，并逐步發(fā)表他們改造別人歌曲的混音作品，其人以為英國搖滾名團Radiohead的"Climbing up the walls"以及Terry Callier的"Love Theme from Spartacus"最引人注目，展露精湛的制作功力，并與Pet Shop Boys及Robert Plant等巨星合作，在首張專輯《Simple Things》出版之前他們發(fā)表了兩張少量生產(chǎn)的EP，造成了一股搶購搜集的熱潮。
《Simple Things》一張集合各式輕松電樂感覺的作品，混融爵士、靈魂、放克等元素在柔緩的chill-out電音情調(diào)中，輯內(nèi)的演唱歌聲部份特別找到了Mozez,Sia Furler以及曾在Groove Armada、 Grooverider專輯中獻聲的Sophie Barker跨刀。音樂雜志形容他們是"英國的Air"，也有很多人喜歡把他們拿來和Morcheeba, Rae & Christian, Nightmares on Wax及早期的Massive Attack等樂團做比較，不過這些都不能確切地表達出Zero 7在此輯中的完美演出，不刻意地加入歌劇中受靈魂樂影響的女伶歌聲，古典音樂的編曲風格以及帶有迷幻氣息的電子音墻，實在令人不得不贊嘆這兩位制作高手的深厚功夫。
NME音樂周報－８分，All Music Guide音樂網(wǎng)站－四顆半星，都給予此輯近滿分的超高評價，而Zero7也以這張作品分別榮膺英國兩大指針性音樂獎：水星音樂獎(Mercury Music Prize) "年度專輯"及全英音樂獎(Brit Award) "最佳新進團體"等提名。喜歡輕淡舒緩的如Air、 Groove Armada、 Bent這些人的電音作品的話，千萬別錯過Zero 7這張專輯，光是"In the Waiting Line"一曲中的曼妙曲調(diào)就足以讓人流連忘返。
