特別注意:…should do, decide on, vote for, best bet 等提出決定的用法,以及一些表示評(píng)價(jià)的形容詞,這時(shí)要分清誰(shuí)是做決定者,做決定的人的語(yǔ)氣一般有一定提示作用。

{真題范例}

JOAN: Where do you think I should put up the notice?

Where everyone’s guaranteed to see it.

PETER: On the café notice board I should think.

JOAN: Hardly anyone looks at that.

PETER: Well, the Newsletter is probably your best bet.

JOAN: Good idea. I’ll go and do that now.

{真題范例}

MARY COLLINS: What have called the design? Keep it short.

JOHN BROWN: What about jigsaw puzzle design for visually handicapped?

MARY COLLINS: Too long. Just say blind puzzle, that’ll do.

JOHN BROWN: OK.

破題密碼:MARY COLLINS詢(xún)問(wèn)設(shè)計(jì)名稱(chēng),但提示:Keep it short(盡量短點(diǎn))。

但JOHN BROWN給出了jigsaw puzzle design for visually handicapped(給視覺(jué)有障礙的人設(shè)計(jì)的拼圖)。 MARY COLLINS之后也說(shuō)了Too long(太長(zhǎng)),意味著考生們還有一次機(jī)會(huì)。最后的答案只需填寫(xiě)B(tài)lind Puzzle(盲人拼圖)。

Too long.

Just say……that’ll do

BRIAN:Is there anything I should do before the course, like reading or anything?

TUTOR: We prefer to integrate reading with the course, so we don’t give out a reading list in advance. But we like people to write a case study, describing an organization they know.

BRIAN:I’ve already done that, as my friends told me you wanted one. But would it be possible to sit in on a teaching session, to see what it’s like? I haven’t been a student for quite a while.

TUTOR: Fine. Just let me know which date, and I’ll arrange it with the tutor.

剛開(kāi)始BRIAN詢(xún)問(wèn)TUTOR(老師)是否有任務(wù)要做,是否需要(reading)看書(shū),而TUTOR回答:希望把課程和看書(shū)結(jié)合在一起,we don’t give out a reading list in advance(我們不會(huì)提前發(fā)書(shū)單。)

但BRIAN說(shuō)I’ve already done that(已經(jīng)做過(guò)了),由于問(wèn)題是What is Brian going to do before the course starts?(BRIAN課程開(kāi)始前“需要”做什么?)

最后,BRIAN提出想sit in on a teaching session(參加教學(xué)課程),而TUTOR說(shuō)了Fine(好的),表示肯定,意味著答案A:attend a class(上課)是正確答案。
