There are marked differences between working in a large enterprise and in a small one. In a large enterprise, you can derive a deep sense of satisfaction and pride from being a member of a well-known organization. And you have opportunities to learn from experienced managers and get acquainted with standard working practices.
In a small enterprise, you have bigger responsibilities and have a better chance of moving up. You may often make your own decisions and your decisions may bring immediate effects. Normally you are exposed to various experiences and expected to do a great many things without much guidance.
Personally, I prefer to work in a small enterprise, where my prospects of promotion are good as long as I work hard. I’d rather become a well-known and important “fish” within my own small pond.
