Social media company Twitter Inc. begins trading on the New York Stock Exchange Thursday. The offering could raise more than $2 billion (U.S.) for the seven-year old San Francisco-based firm.Twitter Inc. will begin life Thursday as a publicly traded company amidst a stock market buzz not seen since Facebook’s disastrous IPO.

The social media network co-founded by Jack Dorsey, a former punk rocker turned computer programmer, is scheduled to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange. On Wednesday night the company set a price of $26 (U.S.) for its initial public offering of stock.

按26美元的發(fā)行價(jià)計(jì)算，Twitter聯(lián)合創(chuàng)始人埃文·威廉姆斯的身價(jià)將達(dá)到20億美元，而另一位聯(lián)合創(chuàng)始人杰克·多西的身價(jià)接近10億美元。
