Indeed, this was the alleyway which led to the back entrance of Club 1997. Doug leaned against the wall to catch his breath, subtly looking around to make sure he was not catching other people's attention. He was sure his position was not compromised; he was concealed nicely by the plants. He could not figure out what could have gone wrong. So what made the transaction fall through? Did something happen on their end? These questions kept running through his mind as he texted his partner, the partner who was probably enjoying a nice glass of champagne inside the venue.
