acquire, obtain, gain, get, win, earn, secure

這些動(dòng)詞均含“獲得、取得、得到”之意。

1）acquire ：強(qiáng)調(diào)通過不斷的、持續(xù)的努力而獲得某物，也指日積月累地漸漸地獲得。書面語用詞。

We shouldacquire more firsthand information.（我們應(yīng)當(dāng)取得更多的第一手資料。)

I tried to acquire the information I needed.(我千方百計(jì)地搞到了我所需要的資料。)

2）obtain ：較正式用詞，著重通過巨大努力、要求而得到所需或盼望已久的東西。

3）Ordinary people would then be able to use them to obtain valuable information.(那時(shí)平常的人便能運(yùn)用它們?nèi)カ@取寶貴的信息。）

3）gain ：側(cè)重指經(jīng)過努力或有意識行動(dòng)而取得某種成就或獲得某種利益或好處。

During that time, she so gained my aunt's confidence that she was put in charge of the domestic staff.（在這期間，她得到了我姑姑如此的信任，結(jié)果被委任為家仆的負(fù)責(zé)人。）

A penny saved is a penny gained.（省一文是一文。）

4）get ：普通用詞，使用廣泛，可指以任何方式得到某物，也不一定要經(jīng)過努力。

I sat in the front of the bus to get a good view of the countryside.（我坐在公共汽車的前部，以得到有利于觀賞農(nóng)村風(fēng)光的機(jī)會(huì)。）

5）win ：主要指通過努力、斗爭、比賽等而獲得勝利。

This invariably wins them the love and respect of others.（這種行為常常為他們贏得別人的愛戴和尊敬。）

6）earn ：側(cè)重指依靠自己的勞動(dòng)或因付出代價(jià)與有功而獲得。

His achievements earned him respect and admiration.（他的成就為他贏得別人的尊敬和贊美。）

7）secure ：強(qiáng)調(diào)要通過努力或競爭，或需要付出代價(jià)才能獲得所渴望的東西。

Can you secure me two good seats for the concert?（你能為我弄到這場音樂會(huì)的兩個(gè)好座位嗎？）
